Attunement by Chris Crittenden

on a silent pond
a bufflehead
sparks to flight,
sowing gleams
in its wake.
ribs blend
without flaw,
until it is clear
that physics
is a perfect harp.
anything that moves
strums it to play.

"physics is a perfect harp": brilliant thought. Don't ducks have some great names.

It just struck me how perfect the universe is. How surrounded we are by forces, motions, attractions, and other powers interacting in complex layers from the minuscule to the gigantic.

The laws never change. The dance is overwhelming. And when you add life to the mix. WOW!!!

Thank you for inspiring me for years now, Gordon.

Thanks for introducing the bufflehead. His name suits him! And thanks for "the harp" too!
