Home on the Water by Tina Trivett

Heron flies
on auburn skies
misty water calling me home

Magnolias blooming
bullfrogs crooning
misty water calling me home

Georgia heat
cool bare feet
misty water calling me home

Lovely poem, which made me want to sing it. Liked its simple rhythm and the vivid pictures it creates. I also felt a resonance in the feelings she expressed, so simply, yet beautifully, for her homeland.

All of Tina's work shows such beauty and grace. This one has such an easy sense of place and lovely sounds evoking that sense of home. I have been trying to find a place to let Tina know how much I enjoy her work but she has the settings on her blog so that only teammembers can comment which is sad (and an accident, I think) so I came here in the hope she might see this. Tina, you are a wonderful poet crafting songs of great beauty and delicacy and I enjoy them greatly.

Thank you so much Paul and all.

Yes, my blog was set to an incorrect setting. Thanks for bringing it to my attention.

A delicate poem, I'm so happy to have found your work. I feel this place you describe very strongly, and not only because I'm from Georgia. A humid summer night, so many of these are recalled here.

Very cool blues cadence to this
poem.
