Heatwave by Steven Schroeder

Cricketsong smells of rain
on the far side of heat this
evening, but it has not broken.

A shadow of a promise,
a kiss of shade diverts us,
takes our minds off sun.

This atmospheric poem arrived too late for me to include it while the heatwave hit Edinburgh. Maybe it can be a reminder..... Of course in some places, I guess the heatwave continues.

Yes I think it was 108 degrees in the sun here yesterday, maybe today, too hot, but hot, this one does remind and remember the wish, without much effort a days work done, a very nice poem, very nice.
