the wind blows my mind by J D Nelson

like a loose leaf,
I flip & twist
as the sky sighs.

far from the tree

where I changed
from green to gold,
I'm flying.

  1. This poem encapsulates an Edinburgh autumn somehow, even though the writer is based in Colorado!

  2. I've experienced autumn in Edinburgh first-hand -- rather blustery, indeed! I remember the (cold) rain coming at me sideways...

  3. By the way, my Blogger profile pic was taken at The Firehouse (?) in Edinburgh, 1997. I was on a pub crawl -- emphasis on "crawl" by the time the pic was snapped.
