Redemption by Chris Alba

The morning after the great storm
as broken branches litter the battlefield of lawn

a titmouse finds the birdbath
brimming with stormwater

and all sorrows cease
as it bathes.

  1. This is a deceptively simple poem filled with action and imagery and reminders. Wonderful work!

  2. I love the wording to describe the lawn. Good visual. And the titmouse cleansing itself after the storm reminds me that we can all do just that.

  4. Splendid poem, great choice. With a Japanese, haiku flavour in it.
