Red House by Jennifer LeBlanc

I loose water from my eyes in alternation with bliss,
like a watch falling from a wrist, then reclaimed—
this mood is of blues and halleluiahs and Hendrix,
driving through town with the windows down.

The windshield shimmies with dust and light,
the night is distant and in this moment,
you elevate the volume, flip back your hair,
you concentrate a stare and a determined wish.

Magnificent; this one's a keeper.

In particular:

'this mood is of blues and halleluiahs and Hendrix'

'The windshield shimmies with dust and light'

- thank you.
